The following outlines policies for linking to the Workplace Fairness (WF) website and requesting a link on the WF website.
1. Linking to the Workplace Fairness website what you can do:
- We appreciate your telling others about our website. You are welcome to provide a hyperlink from your site to ours provided such links do not imply endorsement by us or any affiliation without our specific written permission.
- We cannot guarantee a reciprocal link in every case, as certain sites may not meet our criteria for posting links as described below.
- Advance permission is not required for a simple link to our homepage. However, we ask that you link to our site using only the following URL: https://www.workplacefairness.org.
- We reserve the right to change web pages at any time without notice, so we recommend you link only to our main page and do not link to other pages on our site. If you choose to link to other pages, you must continuously verify your links to those pages.
- We always appreciate a note telling us of new links to our site. Send link information via our contact form.
2. Linking to the Workplace Fairness website what you should not do:
- Please do not capture our pages within your frames or otherwise present our content as your own. Any link to our site should be a link that passes the client browser to our site unencumbered. The BACK button should return the visitor to your site if the visitor wishes to back out. Although all content on our site is public information, Workplace Fairness maintains and will defend a copyright interest in these pages.
- If you would like to publish Workplace Fairness content on our law firm or workers’ rights organization website, we offer annual website content licenses and website development through our 0.1.2.3 suite of products.
- Your site must provide quality content that would be of interest to our visitors and must not contain pornographic verbiage or graphics.
- Our organization was formerly known as the National Employee Rights Institute (NERI), with its website located at www.nerinet.org; we ask that in all future references to our organization that you use our current name, Workplace Fairness, and website address: www.workplacefairness.org. Please update any outdated links to NERI or the old website address. We appreciate your notifying us if you encounter any outdated links elsewhere on the web.
3. Preferred categories of links:
- Links to local, state and federal agencies related to our mission to provide information, education and assistance to individual workers and their advocates nationwide and/or promotes public policies that advance employee rights.
- Links to nonprofit organizations related to our mission.
- Links to nonprofit attorney referral services. Links to commercial attorney referral services are included at our discretion only. We only link to individual attorney or law firm websites through our Find an Employment Attorney service, which offers free basic listings and paid premium listings to attorneys who primarily represent workers in employment cases.
- Links to other authoritative sources of employment law information of interest to our visitors.
- Links to only those commercial sites that we deem to contain information and/or a purpose that furthers our mission. We generally prefer not to link to websites that are solely commercial in nature.
- Links to commercial sites operated by entities that are official sponsors of Workplace Fairness events or programs.
- Note: If only part of a site contains relevant information, Workplace Fairness will link to that section of the site.
4. Selection for links is also based upon such factors as:
- The frequency of requests for adding such a link.
- The stability and trustworthiness of the site.
- The quality and usefulness of the information.
- The value of exchanging links with your company or organization, which should be readily ascertainable from the theme expressed at your site.
5. We will remove a link at our discretion if:
- The link no longer points to the original information or intended resource.
- The information is inaccurate or not trustworthy
- Access to the information has become difficult due to odd formatting, lengthy download times or intrusive advertising.
- The link is gone or remains unavailable for a lengthy period, especially if we are unable to contact you about your site’s status. It will be up to you to notify us of any changes to the address of the link activated.
- Note: Links may be removed or replaced at any time without notice. The location of any link established within this site will be entirely at the discretion of Workplace Fairness. Links will be established in the most appropriate section of the site. Links from the home page of this site will not generally be established.
- Note: We receive numerous e-mail messages, so please be patient while we set up your link. If your site meets the standard criteria we will usually create the link within 10 business days, but it can take longer. If your link doesn’t appear on our site and you have not heard from us within two weeks, please send your request again and mention that it is a second request.
6. Reciprocal links
- The Workplace Fairness website does not enter into reciprocal link agreements. We provide links to sites that are appropriate to our mission.
- Our creation of a link to your site does not obligate you to provide a link back to us, but you are, of course, welcome to do so.
- We always appreciate a note telling us of new links to our site. Send link information via our contact form.
