Workplace Fairness is not currently hiring for the following position. 

Position Description: Communications Coordinator, Workplace Fairness 

(part-time, contract, & works remotely)

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for preparing legal content for the Workplace Fairness website, as well as researching and preparing materials regarding cutting-edge workplace issues, for blogs, action alerts, newsletters, social media, and other web-based communications. The position also includes developing methods for constituent engagement in conjunction with the organization’s branding, PR, and fundraising efforts. The duties of this position can also be summarized below:

  • Reporting to both the Executive Director and Administrative & Development Director

  • Managing Workplace Fairness' social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube), weekly content, e-newsletter, blogs, emails, editorial calendar, press releases

  • Coordinating legal research to improve and cultivate Workplace Fairness' employment law content; general website editing; and work with third party vendors

  • Supervising Legal/Communications Interns or Externs  

  • Assisting in writing action alerts

  • Participating in weekly administrative and communications meetings as well as periodic meetings with members of the Board

  • Assisting with engaging constituents on social media and other online platforms

Our main programs are maintaining and operating our website with more than 400 pages of FAQ-style information about workers’ rights, plus our 0.1.2.3 program offering a range of web services to plaintiff-side employment attorneys. This position is responsible for preparing legal content for the Workplace Fairness website, as well as researching and preparing materials regarding cutting-edge workplace issues, for blogs, action alerts, newsletters, social media and other web-based communications. The position also includes developing methods for constituent engagement in conjunction with the organization’s branding, PR, and fundraising efforts. 

The candidate must possess a JD, be highly organized, a self-starter, work well with a remote team, and be proficient with G-Suite, Word, Excel, and professional use of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. Must have experience with online organizing platforms, CRM or email marketing platforms. Experience with html and web design is also desired. Nonprofit or administration experience is a major plus.
